Aligned Brand Signature

My work is for women and founders whose business has moved further than their outward brand has.

It shows up in the website, the visuals, the messaging, or the way the work is being received.

My role is to help you see what no longer fits, clarify what needs to be expressed next, and build a visual direction that feels calm, coherent and true.

An identity-led brand strategist, with a background across fashion, interior design, design education and brand development.

I help women and founders build brands that reflect who they are becoming.

The Aligned Brand Signature

ABOUT

Identity-led brand strategy and visual direction for women and founders at a threshold.

There’s a version of your outer world that actually feels like you.

Julia Cartwright - Proud Parrot Getaway Designer & Consultant

A brand is never only a logo.

It reveals whether a business has caught up with the person running it, or whether it is still describing someone earlier. I learned to read that gap long before I called it brand strategy. Aligning the two, the business and the identity behind it, is the work I do now.

That is why my work begins beneath the surface. Before colour, layout, styling, imagery, typography, or messaging, we look first at identity.

Who are you now?

What no longer fits?

What needs to be expressed with more clarity, maturity, and truth?

From there, design becomes less about decoration and more about alignment.

I'm Julia Cartwright

From Julie to Julia

Design Begins With Identity

I don't ask what style you like.

I ask who you're becoming.

At ten, I had a pair of shoes I loved, and a single comment about them left me with one feeling: that I was too big for my boots. It became a private rule. Self-expression had to be earned, and I had not yet earned it. At some point I changed my name from Julia to Julie. Julie would not stand out. I told myself it was maturity. It was self-erasure.

The moment I stopped making myself smaller.

Julia has been my name ever since.

Fashion design was supposed to hand that expression back. Instead I designed collections that were boxy and built for a market, not for me. The job title did not return my identity. It gave the old pattern a new outlet.

The shift began with a house, the first one I bought, and it took years more, across two countries and several houses, before I understood what it actually meant. It was never about the house. It was about permission. I changed my name back to Julia. A few letters, and also the moment I stopped building my life around other people's comfort.

Across the years I spent in fashion, interiors and property, I kept watching the same pattern play out in other people's businesses that I had lived through myself. Something outwardly polished, professionally competent, even successful, that still did not feel like the person behind it. It was Julie's brand, not Julia's. It performed well enough. It simply was not recognisable.

That is the foundation of my work today.

I know how to read what something is communicating before changing how it looks.

The Experience Behind the Alignment Blueprint

Over thirty years, my work has moved across fashion design, interior design, property styling, brand development, and design education.

I began in fashion, where I learned how colour, proportion, texture, silhouette, and detail shape perception.

I later moved into interiors and property styling, helping homes communicate value, atmosphere, and emotional ease. Through property renovation and styling, I saw how strategic design decisions could change not only how a space looked, but how it was experienced and valued.

I went on to work in design education, leading and developing curriculum for national interior design programmes, including Diploma and Advanced Diploma level training.

Alongside that, I developed my work in brand strategy, visual identity, and astrology-informed brand alignment.

The common thread across all of it is this:

Your brand, website, visuals and offers are not separate from the life you are building.

They influence how you feel, how you make decisions, how others experience your work, and how confidently you step into your next chapter.

When they no longer reflect who you are, the effect is subtle but constant.

My work brings those outer expressions back into alignment, so your brand and visual identity feel clear, coherent and true.

A brand that supports what comes next.

A brand that supports what comes next.
